1. IOE Activities, Achievements etc.

  • PhD fellowship programs at IITs for ASEAN countries: This programme was formally launched to fund 1,000 scholars from south east Asian countries (ASEAN) to pursue PhD at the 23 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Total Students joined in the previous rounds- 2 (taking classes online) and 2 students selected in the 3rd round
  • In UQIDAR (Research council for the UQ-IITD Academy) 51 students currently in international joint PhD program.

  • Status of New Schools/CoE/Centers etc
    • A new School of Artificial Intelligence (ScAI) has been established. The Ph.D. students have already been admitted in this academic year. M.Tech Programme about to start. 11 joint faculty and 12 associate faculty currently joined

      • MG Motor India has joined hands with IIT Delhi’s Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) for ground-breaking research in the field of electric and autonomous vehicles.
      • IIT Delhi and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel (HUJI) have partnered to support collaborative and interdisciplinary education and research initiatives.
      • IIT Delhi and the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation (MSDF) have come together to bridge the increasing digital divide in education for students from economically weaker backgrounds and support them to complete their education amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

      • In the recently released QS World University Rankings 2022 edition, IIT Delhi featured amongst the top-200 world institutions with an improved rank of 185 amongst 1300 globally ranked institutes.

      • Four Academic Programmes Offered by IIT Delhi Achieve Top-100 Ranks Globally
      • 54th Rank in the QS world University Rankings by Subject 2021 – Consistently maintaining the rank at around 50 from the last two years which used to be near 70 previously
      • In the India Today's India’s Best Colleges Survey 2021 rankings the institute stood at the rank of 1.

      Perception building through IIT Delhi’s Covid Related Initiatives

      • Researchers at IIT Delhi Kusuma School of Biological Sciences (KSBS) have developed a detection assay for COVID-19 which has now been approved by ICMR.

IIT Delhi announces International Ph D Fellowship Program (IPFP).


This is a platform for harnessing deep technologies. IoE would provide funding support to develop PoC and commercialize the technology


IIT Delhi signs an MoU with Microsoft to advance research in Artificial Intelligence a thrust area of research under IoE.


For faculty recruitment, IIT Delhi supports travel of faculty from foreign countries (and foreigners) for the interview process.


IIT Delhi has established a School of Public Policy (SOPP) for the purpose and under this school it recently partnered with Tata Trust to support research in this area, please see the following media link describing the nature of collaboration.


Through a rigorous selection process, 13 Executive Assistants recruited for implementing and advancing the IoE goals (Over 2000 applications were received of which around 400 were shortlisted for a written test. Those qualifying the written test appeared for a GD and interview and 13 were finally selected.


: IoE is providing support for equipment for Central Research Facility (CRF).


Accomplishment of IoE goals is being treated as a project with specific activities and goals. A web based portal has been developed to monitor the progress towards these goals. The portal is internal and can be accessed internally
